Ask AI · self-service analytics

Ask in plain language. Get the answer — or the dashboard.

Ask is the AI assistant built into every page of VEPICT. Executives ask a question and get the answer from governed data, with the numbers and where they came from. Ask for a dashboard and Ask builds it on the spot — then waits for your approval before anything is created. No ticket to IT, no waiting for an analyst, no second version of the truth.

Hello — I can answer questions about your data, or build a dashboard or report for you. I can only see what you can see, and I’ll ask before I change anything.

Self-service, elevated

From “raise a request” to “ask and decide”

Traditional self-service BI

  • Executives wait for analysts to build what they need
  • Each report defines “margin” or “active customer” its own way
  • Drag-and-drop tools still need training and a data model
  • A new question means a new request and days of delay
  • Access rules are re-implemented in every tool

With VEPICT Ask

  • Ask in plain language; get the answer with its numbers in seconds
  • Every answer reads the same governed semantic models as the reports
  • Ask builds dashboards and reports on request — you approve them
  • Ask reads a dashboard and suggests what it is missing
  • Ask acts with exactly your access; every call is audited as yours

What Ask can do

One assistant across the whole platform

Answer from governed data

Questions are answered from the semantic models — the same measures, joins and synonyms your dashboards use — with tables of the records when there are more than a few.

Build dashboards and reports

“Build me a board pack” becomes a dashboard with KPI cards, trends and breakdowns. Reports and paginated documents too — all shown for approval before they are created.

Improve what you have

Ask reads an existing dashboard, its notes and its datasets, and proposes the tile that answers the question the page raises but does not show.

Forecast and plan

Ask can start a forecast in Vista Predictions or a scenario in Scenarios & Optimization, and explain the result in business language. See planning →

Take you there

After it finds or creates something, Ask offers to open the page — the dashboard, the dataset, the report — so you can carry on.

Schedule and share

Ask can set a dashboard or report to arrive as PowerPoint, PDF or Excel on a schedule, each recipient seeing only what they are allowed to see.

Trust by design

Self-service your IT and audit teams will sign off

  • Acts as you. Ask calls VEPICT with your identity, so it reads only what you can read and changes only what you can change.
  • Nothing changes without approval. Reads run at once; each proposed change appears on an Approve / Cancel card, one at a time.
  • Audited. Every call Ask makes is recorded as yours, on behalf of Ask.
  • Your AI engine. Connect Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Mistral AI, Groq, DeepSeek or DeepInfra; keys are stored encrypted.
  • Your data policy. A tenant policy decides which providers may receive which classifications of data; answers carrying forbidden data are withheld from the model.

Who it is for

  • Executives — a board pack, a question before a meeting, a forecast for the next quarter.
  • Managers — why a KPI moved, which team, which supplier, which lane.
  • Analysts — a first draft of a dashboard or a dataset to refine, not a blank canvas.
  • IT and data teams — fewer one-off requests, one semantic layer, every action audited.
