1. Our commitment
Pyroelectric Incorporated wants everyone to be able to use the VEPICT website, including people who use assistive technologies. We design for accessibility from the start and treat a barrier as a defect to fix.
2. The standard we follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, published by the W3C. WCAG 2.1 AA is the benchmark referenced for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act, the European accessibility standard EN 301 549 and similar laws elsewhere.
3. What we have done
- Keyboard: every link, button, form control, tab, dialog and game can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator. A “Skip to content” link is the first item on every page.
- Screen readers: pages use semantic headings, landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and lists; images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology; knowledge-graph diagrams are labeled and their meaning is also given in text.
- Forms: every field has a visible label; errors are described in text next to the field and announced; required fields are identified.
- Color and contrast: text meets AA contrast ratios against its background, and color is never the only way information is conveyed — for example, discovered relationships in graphs are both red and dashed.
- Motion: animations are subtle and are turned off when your device asks to reduce motion.
- Zoom and reflow: pages reflow to a single column and remain usable at 200% zoom and on small screens.
- Dialogs: search, capability details and dashboard enlargements can be closed with Escape and return focus where you were.
- Language: each page declares its language so assistive technology pronounces it correctly.
4. Ways to use the site
- Press Ctrl + K (or ⌘ + K on a Mac), or /, to search or ask a question from any page.
- Use your browser’s zoom (Ctrl + +) to enlarge text; the layout adapts.
- Whitepapers can be saved as PDF or printed from their page.
5. Known limitations
- Dashboard images in the gallery and business applications are screenshots of example dashboards. Each has a text description of what it shows, but the individual chart values are not available as text. We are glad to describe any dashboard in more detail on request.
- The spot-the-hidden-potential game asks you to choose a node in a diagram. Nodes are labeled, and the explanation after each round is given in text; we are working on an alternative list-based way to play.
- Content written by invited authors is checked when published, but images in older posts may have less detailed descriptions.
6. Tell us about a barrier
If something on the site does not work for you, or you need information in another format, please tell us. Write to accessibility@vepict.com with the page address and what happened. We aim to reply within two business days and to provide the information you need in an accessible way while we fix the problem.
7. Formal approval
This statement was prepared by Pyroelectric Incorporated through self-assessment against WCAG 2.1 AA, supported by automated checks and manual keyboard and screen-reader testing. We review it whenever the site changes significantly and at least once a year.
